SAN Sebastian got going in the third quarter before repulsing St. Benilde in the homestretch to nail a 76-68 win in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup on Wednesday in San Juan.
Michael Calisaan put up an all-around outing of 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Stags.
Allyn Bulanadi also scored 15 points, while Regille Ilagan and jason David combined for 25 in San sebastian's first win after dropping is season opener against Adamson.
Benilde dropped to 1-1.
The Stags dropped 25 points in the third quarter to move ahead by as many as 23 points, taking a 59-39 lead heading into the final quarter.
"Lagi ko sinasabi sa kanila na the game is about momentum. Gusto ko bigyan ng exposure yung ibang bata namin that is why we tried to use them," said san Sebastian coach Egay Macaraya.
"Kung naging maganda sana yung end game namin, maca-carry namin yun. This is about building character, yung samahan, bonding. Hopefully, in the next game, hindi na mangyari yun."
Edward Dixon paced St. Benilde with 11 points, while Yankie Haruna had 10 points and nine rebounds.
