MANILA Central University finally barged into the win column even as Centro Escolar University and reigning titlist Olivarez College continued their hot streak in the PGFlex-UCAL Season 8 Basketball Tournament at the Paco Arena.

With Seanne Devon General leading MCU’s well-balanced attack, the Supremos of Caloocan outlasted Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas, 97-90, to end a four-game losing run to start off their campaign.

Salute to a General

In his best game so far, General completed a double-double with 17 points – spiked by two triples – and 13 boards plus four assists.

He got ample support from Darrel Garcia, Daniel Santelices and RJ Tadeo, who chipped in 15,14 and 12 points, respectively, most of them came at the height of PCU-D’s desperate attempt to turn things around.

The loss snapped PCU-D’s three-game winning run as it fell to 3-2 (win-loss).

Meantime, the CEU Scorpions streaked to their 6th win after edging past the Diliman College Blue Dragons, while the Olivarez Sea Lions tripped Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, 63-60, to stay second with a 5-0 record.
