FORMER De La Salle stalwarts Matt Salem and Terence Mustre led their respective new teams to victory in the Under-25 division of the Milcu Elite Showcase recently at the Enderun Colleges gym.
Salem had 20 points as National University beat Adamson juniors, 71-51, while Mustre added 18 points in giving Adamson-B split an 83-66 win over San Sebastian College.
Following NU’s 80-46 win over Adamson-A split, the Bulldogs finished the eliminations with a 7-1 slate for second place in Group A before entering the quarterfinals.
Adamson-B, which also beat Far Eastern University, 74-64, leads Group B with a 6-1 record, but is already assured of a quarterfinal berth with one game to play in the eliminations.
In other matches, Clement Letcheu had 21 points and eight rebounds to lift College of Saint Benilde to a 69-48 rout of San Sebastian College-B to give the Blazers a 5-1 mark in Group B.
Michael Are had 14 points as Polytechnic University of the Philippines won over University of Santo Tomas juniors, 80-50, as the Radicals improved to 4-3.
Christ Ian Macaranas contributed 19 points in AMA University’s 90-61 win over STI-Balagtas in the tournament sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and supported by Milcu, Slam Philippines, Gatorade, LGR x Titan Sports Wear, Coach Athletic Trainers’ Tape, and Secret Fresh.
