MARK Yee played for less than a minute of Davao Occidental’s victory over Quezon City in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup on Tuesday after showing up with the wrong set of uniform.
Davao Occidental coach Don Dulay confirmed Yee brought the team’s dark jersey and had to wait for the correct uniform to be delivered to the Pasig Sports Center.
“We had two sets of jerseys. He brought the wrong one,” said Dulay.
Yee was one of the key players for Davao Occidental, having 13 points and 12 rebounds in the Tigers’ 75-71 over Imus last June 14 in their league debut.
This time he played in a grand total of 42 seconds.
Dulay commended the effort of the team for playing through without Yee as well as another key veteran player in Bonbon Custodio, who is suffering from a back injury.
“We are hoping he could make it on time but he didn’t so good thing we won without him,” Dulay said.
