MARIKINA kept its unbeaten slate in the Metro Basketball Tournament with a 74-67 drubbing of Caloocan on Wednesday at the Navotas Sports Complex.
The Shoelanders completed a five-game sweep of their classification round assignment to emerge as the top seeded team in the North Division of the tournament for players 16-years-and-under.
They are also bound to play in Division 1 come the qualification phase of the meet presented by the Metro Manila Development Authority and Higer Bus starting this Friday. The Shoelanders will be bunched in the same group along with the top two teams in both the Central and South divisions, together with the no. 2 team in the North.
The Supremos fell to a 1-4 record on the penultimate day of the metro-wide meet and are headed to play in Division III of the playoffs.
Already cinched as the top team in the Central Division is the Manila All-Stars, who also romped to the next round with a perfect 5-0 mark.
The Makati Skycrapers are the other teams with an unbeaten record of 4-0 to pace the South Division.
