THE Manila Stars continued its strong run in the MPBL Datu Cup, beating the Pasay Voyagers, 115-85, on Wednesday at the San Andres Gym.
Aris Dionisio had 16 markers on 5-of-7 shooting field as Manila scored its sixth win in seven games.
The loss was the fifth in seven matches for the Voyagers.
Meanwhile, actor Gerald Anderson came up with his best game in the tournament as the Marikina Shoemasters scored an 80-76 win over the Navotas Clutch.
Anderson, sidelined early in the tournament by a hamstring injury, knocked in two triples while picking up two steals in 17 minutes of play.
“I think he’s beginning to establish his confidence of playing in this league. Before, he was more focused on defense. But he can also shoot the ball,” said coach Elvis Tolentino of Marikina.
“Hindi alam ng karamihan na si Gerald, key player ko talaga siya.”
Erwin Sta. Maria delivered 19 points and seven rebounds as Marikina improved its win-loss record to 4-3.
