ARIS Dionisio had 11 points and 17 rebounds as the Manila Stars defeated the Bulacan Kuyas, 69-65, in Game One of the first round playoffs of the MPBL Datu Cup at the Bataan Peoples’ Center.
Dionisio’s double-double gave the Stars first blood of the best-of-three series and the Robust Energy Capsule-backed squad can sweep the first round series on March 20 at the San Andres Sports Complex.
Dionisio was also all over the court as he had four steals and five blocks in Game One of the series for the Stars, who survived a five-point second quarter to take the win.
Chris Bitoon added 10 points for Manila.
The loss spoiled the effort of Gwyne Capacio, who finished with 23 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.
