Manila edges Mandaluyong for right to represent NCR in Palarong Pambansa 3-on-3 tilt

Manila, represented by Mapua cagers Clint Escamis, Grant Dennison, Lloyd Oliva, and Bryan Impel, took the crown and gained the right to represent NCR in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa 3-on-3 competition

MANILA beat Mandaluyong, 19-17, on Wednesday in the National Capital Region (NCR) Athletic Meet 3-on-3 basketball tournament finals at the Damayan Gym in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Manila, represented by Mapua cagers Clint Escamis, Grant Dennison, Lloyd Oliva, and Bryan Impel, took the crown and gained the right to represent NCR in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa 3-on-3 competition this summer in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

Paranaque City won the bronze.

In the girls’ division, Quezon City captured the gold, while Valenzuela and Manila clinched the silver and bronze medals respectively.

It will be the first time 3-on-3 basketball will be played at the Palaro where regional qualifying tournaments were staged.

Meanwhile, the 5-on-5 tournament is ongoing at the Pasig Sports Center, with the championship game to be held on Saturday at the same venue.
