CENTRO Escolar University shoots for its sixth straight win and the solo lead when it battles winless St. Joseph College of Bulacan on Thursday in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League Season 3 at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.
The Scorpions and the Bulacan dribblers square off at 2 p.m. with the Scorpions going for a repeat after mauling SJC, 120-46, in the first round behind Senegalese import Malick Maodo Diouf, Judelric Fuentes and Rich Lorenz Guinitaran.
CEU finished the first round tied for the lead with Olivarez College and Diliman College with similar 5-1 cards.
The Scorpions, meanwhile, own the longest streak in the league having won five straight since dropping a close 86-83 decision to the Olivarez Sea Lions on opening day.
Clashing at 12 p.n. are Technological Institute of the Philippines and Philippine Christian University with the Engineers out to score a follow-up to their 87-63 win over the SJC dribblers.
The TIP Engineers are tied with Lyceum-Batangas for fourth to fifth places with an even 3-3 records in the tournament backed by CaféFrance, Yakult, Gerry’s Grill, Hapee Toothpaste, MaxSell Power Tool and Tough Mama Home and Kitchen Appliances, Tanduay Athletics and Toyota Motor Philippines.
