THE Malacañang Kamao are out to make amends when they clash with the Ombudsman Graftbusters on Sunday in the UNTV Cup Executive Face-Off at the Pasig City Sports Center.
Presidential Special Assistant Bong Go and Co. take on the Graftbusters at 3 p.m., hoping to put behind them a stinging 78-74 loss to the Senate Sentinels in the opener last Sunday.
Go showed flashes of brilliance to finish with 15 points but was overshadowed by Sen. Joel Villanueva, who scattered 21 points aside from masterfully orchestrating Senate's third-quarter rally.
Clashing at 4:30 p.m. are the Judiciary Magis and the Department of Justice Boosters with both teams looking for an auspicious start in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon.
Spearheading the Magis’ campaign is Justice Jose Midas Marquez while Joseph Gernale, Alejando Daguiso and Dion Rex Africa banner the Justice Boosters.
Aside from the Senate Sentinels, also winning on opening day were the PNP Responders of Director General Oscar Albayalde.
Albayalde and company showed much improvement as they stunned the defending champions Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers, 90-62.
The chosen charity of the champion gets P1 million while the runner-up’s charity receives P500,000.
Games Sunday: (Pasig City Sports Center) 3 p.m. – Malacañang vs Ombudsman; 4:30 p.m. – DOJ vs Judiciary
