MAKATI thrived on inside plays and fast breaks to defeat Pasig Realtors, 101-87, in the MPBL Lakan Season on Tuesday at the Valenzuela Astrodome.
Joshua Torralba had 24 points and five steals as the Super Crunch raised their record to 13-3, behind only the San Juan Knights (15-2) and Manila Stars (13-2) in the northern division.
Jeckster Apinan had 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Cedric Ablaza added 12 points for Makati.
The Super Crunch poured 54 points in the paint as against only 22 for the Realtors and tallied 23 points on fast breaks.
Leo Najorda delivered 29 points, Robbie Manalang 16, Josan Michael Nimes 14 and Jeric Teng 12 for the Realtors, running fourth in the northern division with a 10-5 record.
Bataan evened its record, 8-8, with an 84-65 victory over Bacolod.
John Bryon Villarias fired 25 points, including six triples, while Reed Juntilla scored 21, spiked by four three-pointers, for the Risers.
Bacolod shot 24 for 75 and slid to 6-10.
Valenzuela zoomed ahead by 31 points in the fourth quarter and eased to a 97-83 victory over Muntinlupa.
New acquisition Val Acuna led Valenzuela with 18 points, Paolo Hubalde added 17 and Jaycee John Asuncion scored 10 as the Classic notched their seventh win against 11 losses.
John Kervin Ortuoste and Biboy Eguio scored 14 each for Muntinlupa, which skidded to 4-14.
