MAKATI scored a 76-65 win over Laguna on Wednesday in the MPBL Datu Cup at the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City.
It was the 14th straight win for the Super Crunch, improving its win-loss record to 20-4 behind only the Bataan Risers at 21-2.
The Super Crunch play the Quezon City Capitals in its final elimination-round match.
Quezon City scored an 80-71 victory over Imus in the other game.
The Capitals firmed up their hold of sixth spot in the Northern Division with an 11-11 record.
Jay Collado had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Hesed Gabo had 14 markers and 11 assists.
Mon Mabayo added 13 points and six rebounds for Quezon City.
“We really need this one. Right now, we’re at No. 6 and hopefully, we could move farther,” said Quezon City coach Vis Valencia.
