MAC Tallo says he should be ready for a PBA comeback in six months, seeing his stint in the MPBL as a shot at redemption.
"Gusto ko i-redeem 'yong sarili ko ngayong nandito ako sa MPBL, hindi ko kasi vina-value 'yong kung anong meron ako dati eh," the Cebuano guard said.
Tallo was released by NLEX midway through the PBA Commissioner’s Cup following three seasons with the Road Warriors and was quickly picked up by MPBL expansion squad Bacolod.
The 5-foot-11 guard has made impressive outings for Bacolod, including a masterful debut of 31 points, four rebounds, six assists and six steals in an 87-83 win over Mindoro.
"Itong MPBL na rin 'yung way ko to improve my decision-making and 'yung leadership ko for the team. I'm sure six months to one year, ready na akong bumalik sa PBA kung may kukuha man sa akin," he added.
The Southwestern University product is determined to become a more vocal leader on and off the court and not simply deliver points.
"Kinausap ko talaga si coach na hindi puwedeng kaunti lang ang gamitin niya. Magaling ang teammates ko, kumpyansa lang ang kulang. Nagtiwala naman siya kaya lima sa amin ang nag double digit sa scoring," Tallo said.
A native of Cebu, Tallo is proud to represent the South, even if it is not Cebu.
"As long as I'm playing for Visayas, for South, malaki ang tuwa ko."
