TWO men had a spitting contest in a highly physical encounter between University of the East and Lyceum on Wednesday, and they're not expected to kiss and make up anytime soon.
UE player Lord Casajeros started it off by spitting on Lyceum’s Dexter Zamora after they got entangled during a deadball situation late in the fourth period of their match in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.
The encounter was not seen by the referees and, as a result, Casajeros escaped being penalized over the incident.
Zamora, however, had the last laugh.
During the traditional shaking of hands among rival players after the game, Zamora gave the UE player a dose of his own medicine. Zamora spat on his own hand before giving Casajeros a high five.
Realizing that he had been had, Casajeros smiled, wiped his hand on Zamora’s back, and walked away.
Incidentally, the Red Warriors won the game, 82-72.
