LONG Island Nets stung G League Ignite, 109-97, on Tuesday at AdventHealth Arena in Orlando (Wednesday, Manila time).

Jalen Green, who is of Filipino descent, had 21 points on 5-of-6 shooting from deep, alongside four rebounds and three steals, but his efforts weren't enough as the opposition leaned on their veteran smarts to hold off the young guns.

The select team has lost three of four games after a 4-0 start.

After seeing its 15-point lead cut to four, 64-48 midway through the third frame, Long Island responded with a 10-2 run to restore a 12-point lead, 78-66, with 1:11 remaining before preserving that cushion in the fourth period and Jeremiah Martin's freebies stretching the lead to its highest at 17, 108-91 in the last 1:32.

Brandon Ashley provided support for Ignite with 16 points and five rebounds, Donta Hall got a double-double of 15 points, 12 boards, and two assists, and Congolese guard Jonathan Kuminga was held to 10 points on a paltry 3-of-11 shooting, while also grabbing three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in this humbling defeat.
