LEOMER Losentes set a Maharlika Pilipinas Basketbal League record 41 points as the General Santos City Warriors defeated the Pasig Pirates, 116-72, on Saturday at the Lamitan City New Gymnasium in Basilan.
Losentes erased the mark of 36 points set by Juneric Baloria of the Pampanga Lanterns in 76-88 loss to Imus.
The Warriors’ 44-point win was also the biggest margin in the league.
The Davao Occidental Tigers defeated host team Basilan Steel, 86-61, to extend their winning streak to 10.
The Tigers, on top in the Southern Division, improved to 12-3.
The Steel suffered their fifth straight loss and dropped to 4-9.
“Our target now is to win the championship. We know it’s a tough task, but I’m sure that’s the target of at least most of the teams in the MPBL,” said Davao Occidental coach Don Dulay.
