LA Consolacion College-Manila (LCCM) defeated Manila Tytana Colleges, 73-65, to remain unbeaten in the 4th Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball tournament on Saturday at the Technological Institute of the Philippines gym in Manila.
Jimmy Brown posted 18 points while Ryan Sagrada and Kerr Bailey Bangeles had 14 markers apiece as the Blue Royals overcame a six-point halftime deficit to post a perfect 2-0 record.
Sean Paulo scored 18 points and former PBA Developmental-League player Jemuel Namocatcat added 15 points as Technological Institute of the Philippines trounced Feati University 80-65. The Engineers are in solo third at 2-1.
Philippine Merchant Marine School hiked its flawless slate to 3-0 after an 83-52 rout of St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA). Sany Trinidad registered 21 points and Elmar Moradas chipped in 10 for the Las Pinas-based Mariners.
Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s volleyball competitions will start on Friday at the TIP gym with a heavy six-game bill.
Competing schools in the volleyball tourney are TIP, Feati, Manila Adventist Medical Center and Colleges, PMMS, LCCM, Philippine Women's University, Manila Tytana and SDCA.
TIP topped the distaff side last year while Feati ruled the men’s division.
