LADY Macbeth Riots leaned on Kacey Dela Rosa to beat Army Altama, 21-11, on Sunday and capture the Manila Hustle 3x3-Philippine Women’s 3x3 International Invitational at the Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City.
Dela Rosa dominated the paint to lead a huge turnaround by the Riots after trailing, 6-3, in the championship game. The Ateneo center sealed the win on a free throw with still 26.3 seconds remaining in the contest.
Finals MVP
Dela Rosa won the Finals MVP award after teaming up with Khate Castillo, Trina Guytingco, and Janine Pontejos, who played against an Army squad that she played for in previous club competitions.
The Army Altama squad of Chack Cabinbin, Camille Sambile, Soc Borja, and Mar Prado settled for second in the all-Pinay final.
Lady Macbeth earned a measure of revenge after it lost to Army, 17-16, in its first game in pool play.
After going 1-1 in Pool D, Lady Macbeth earned a place in the quarterfinals early Sunday with a 19-17 win over Thailand’s Shoot It Dragons. Lady Macbeth edged Discovery Perlas, 21-18, in the semifinals.
1EYEHANSOL of Korea bagged third place with a 21-11 victory over Discovery Perlas.
