KYOTO Hannaryz got back at San-En NeoPhoenix, pulling off an 87-74 win in the 2020-21 B.League on Saturday at Mie Prefectural Sun Arena.
Five players from the home team scored in double figures, led by David Simon's double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, as Kyoto denied San-En of a sweep in the two-game roadtrip.
Keijuro Matsui shot 3-of-5 from deep and finished with 16 points, while Rayvonte Rice added 15 points, six boards, and four assists as Kyoto improved to a 14-28 record.
Ryo Terashima added 14 points on 3-of-5 clip from threes, alongside eight assists, as Justin Harper got 14 points and seven rebounds.
Hannaryz shot 11-of-24 from downtown for a 46 percent clip.
Kyoto's 21-13 opener set the tone as San-En desperately played catch-up all game long.
The NeoPhoenix trimmed the lead down to nine, 67-58 after a Stevan Jelovac jumper at the 7:21 mark of the fourth, but the Hannaryz responded with a killer 10-0 blast, with Matsui and Rice combining for three straight triples to put the game beyond reach at 19, 77-58, with 4:57 left.
Kyle Hunt led the NeoPhoenix with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Jelovac cooled off and only had 16 points and 10 boards in the defeat.
San-En could not replicate its solid showing a day prior when it scored an 86-78 win against Kyoto.
The NeoPhoenix, which are still awaiting the return of Filipino import Thirdy Ravena from a fractured right index finger, fell to a 10-32 card.
They continue their roadtrip on March 17 when they face Osaka Evessa (25-17) at Ookini Arena Maishima.
