KQ double-double salvages KBL split for Goyang Sono Skygunners

Abando's 25-point night goes for naught for Anyang

KEVIN Quiambao powered Goyang Sono Skygunners to an 86-80 victory over Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the 2025-26 Korean Basketball League (KBL) on Sunday at Daegu Gymnasium.

The Gilas Pilipinas star scored 20 points built on three three-pointers, to go with 11 rebounds, three assists, and one block as the visitors earned the bounce back win and moved up to 2-3 (win-loss) for the season.

SJ Belangel came away with 22 points on 3-of-7 shooting from distance, on top of four assists, three boards, and one steal, but Daegu remained winless through four games.

That continued the tough start for the Pegasus who also fell to Wonju DB Promy, 80-70, at home a day prior despite Belangel posting 14 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

Ethan Alvano came close to a triple-double with his 12 points, 10 assists, and seven boards for Wonju (3-1).

Changwon LG Sakers also continued to roll, nabbing their third consecutive conquest after a 69-53 home win over Suwon KT SonicBoom.

Carl Tamayo notched 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists as Changwon improved to a 3-1 win-loss card.

JD Cagulangan tallied 11 points, three boards, three assists, and two steals as Suwon (3-2) saw its two-game win streak come to an end.

Seoul Samsung Thunders also survived Rhenz Abando's big night to take the 83-80 squeaker on the road.

Justin Gutang notched 10 points, four steals, two rebounds, and one assist for Seoul which evened its record to 2-2.

Abando catches fire

Abando saw his 25-point night go to waste. He also got eight boards, two dimes, and one block as Anyang slipped to 3-2.

It was a missed chance for the Red Boosters to complete the weekend sweep after Saturday's 75-66 win over Seoul SK Knights.

Abando tallied 15 points, five rebounds, four steals, and two assists in that home win.

Arvin Tolentino, on the other hand, contributed seven points, three boards, one assist, and one block for Seoul, which fell to 2-2.

Busan KCC Egis also blew out the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, 86-68, on Saturday at Dongcheon Gymnasium.
