KOBE Paras has officially committed to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Bruins after signing a letter of intent on Tuesday(Wednesday Manila time).
Paras tweeted he is “officially a Bruin” on the first day of the signing period for recruits while expressing heartfelt thanks to his family along with other persons who made his entry to UCLA possible.

The Twitter account of Paras’ current school Middlebrooks Academy posted a photo of Paras’ signing.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Paras was one of three players based in Southern California to commit to the Bruins, joining 6-foot-10 Ike Anigbogu of Corona Centennial and point guard Lonzo Ball who is expected to be a one-and-done player for UCLA.
Filipino basketball fans also expressed excitement over Paras joining the Bruins due to the possibility that he may eventually land a spot in the NBA via playing in the NCAA's top tier.
