CREIGHTON rallied to beat Xavier, 72-67, but Maurice Watson hurt his left knee on Monday in Cincinnati (Tuesday, Manila time).

The eighth-ranked Bluejays squandered an double-digit lead but fought hard in the endgame to stretch their win streak to five, notching their 18th win in 19 games.

Creighton led 61-50 with seven minutes to play but found itselt trailing by a point entering the final minute.

Marcus Foster had 15 points on 7 of 20 shooting, while Justin Patton scored 10 and wound up a rebound short of a double-double.

Kobe Paras of the Philippines did not see action after a five-point outing against Division II Truman State, as Creighton improved its Big East record to five wins against a loss.

Watson hit the deck after a tough layup late in the first half and did not return for the second.

It was the Bluejays' eighth road win, ending the Musketeers' nine-game unbeaten run at home.

Trevon Bluiett had 17 points on 5 of 11 shooting for Xavier, which entered the game ranked 15th.

The Musketeers absorbed their third straight loss and fifth in 18 matches.

Rashid Gaston went 5 for 12 and wound up with 12 points for Xavier, which is 3-3 in the Big East.
