THE No. 10 Creighton Bluejays stepped on the gas in the second half and cruised to victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 77-62, on Wednesday in Lincoln, Nebraska (Thursday, Manila time).
Creighton’s top offensive player Marcus Foster was held scoreless in the first half, and the Bluejays was up by only a hairline at the break.
They pushed hard to start the second half to extend the lead to double-digits with still under 13 minutes to play, 48-37.
Creighton remained unbeaten in nine games, while dealing Nebraska its fourth loss in nine outings.
Maurice Watson came up with a season-high 25 points for Creighton, which looks to make it 10 straight wins when it takes on the Longwood Lancers (2-4).
Cole Huff was the only other Bluejay to score in double digits with 13 points, while Kobe Paras of the Philippines made the stats sheet with one of rebound.
Foster finished with seven points on 3 of 9 shooting, missing all four attempts from beyond the arc.
Tai Webster scored 16 points to lead Nebraska.
