Marcus Foster scored 27 points as the Bluejays notched their eighth win in as many games.
Cole Huff came up with 16 points and Maurice Watson added 14.
Kobe Paras of the Philippines did not play for the Bluejays, who next take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Creighton ended Akron’s win run at six.
Kwan Cheatham Jr. scored 17 points to lead the Zips, who absorbed their second loss in eight outings.
