Georgetown ends two-game slide and deals Creighton second straight loss as Kobe Paras gets a bit of court time

THE Georgetown Hoyas took control early and cruised to victory over a suddenly skidding Creighton Bluejays, 71-51, on Wednesday in Washington (Thursday, Manila time).

The Hoyas caught fire in the last six minutes of the second half for a 39-27 lead and never looked back.

LJ Peak scored 20 on 8 of 15 shooting, while Rodney Pryor had 18 points, making 7 of 15 field goal attempts as Georgetown ended a two-game slide.

Creighton, which slipped to No. 16 after eight weeks in the top 10 following the setback to Marquette last week, absorbed a second straight loss and third overall.

Without Maurice Watson, who tore a knee ligament in a win over Xavier, the Bluejays could not get things going against a Georgetown side that entered the match ninth in the Big East.

The Hoyas now hold a 2-6 win-loss mark in the conference and 11-10 overall.

Kobe Paras of the Philippines had two rebounds for the Bluejays now hold a 5-3 card in the Big East, 18-3 overall.

Justin Patton had 20 points, making 9 of 13 field goal attempts, while Marcus Foster was the only other Bluejay to score in double figures with 12.
