So is the PBA on the horizon for the 27-year-old son of former PBA MVP Benjie Paras?
“I’m open to it,” Paras said in a short chat with SPIN.ph on Monday as he watched the game between Gilas Pilipinas and Macau Black Bears.
Paras would definitely be a big addition to the PBA Season 50 Rookie Draft and the 6-foot-6 high-flyer could even make an argument for the top selection when the annual rookie selection proceedings happen later this year.
But at the moment, he still had his reservations.
It’s been two years since Paras was a part of a basketball team, with his contract with Japan B.League second division side Altiri Chiba expiring on March 2023.
In that last go-round, he averaged 5.3 points on 35-percent shooting from three-point country, to go with 1.0 assist in 12 minutes of play through 30 games in the 2022-23 season.

Since then, he has stepped away from the hardwood, going on a basketball sabbatical as majority of the news coming out about him only focusing on his showbiz involvement.
He has since foisted excitement for his fans when he returned to train, especially with videos of his workouts with True Focus coaches surfacing a few months ago.
When it comes to Kobe’s basketball future, it’s really a matter of when and where at this point.
