CREIGHTON wasted a huge lead and barely got past struggling Oral Roberts, 66-65, on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) to preserve its unblemished record in the NCAA.
The Bluejays saw a 13-point lead vanish and found themselves trailing before Marcus Foster hit a layup to put Creighton back on top.
That proved to be the final basket as the teams went on to play three minutes of misses and turnovers, and the Bluejays notched their 11th win in as many games.
Foster finished with 22 points for Creighton, which looked in control with a double-digit lead early but the Golden Eagles rallied in the second half behind Albert Owens and tied the match at 58 with over nine minutes to play.
Maurice Watson had 13 points and Justin Patton scored 10 for the Bluejays.
Kobe Paras did not see action this time for Creighton, which next takes on the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Oral Roberts absorbed their 10th loss in 12 games even as Owens came up with 23 points and eight rebounds.
Jalen Bradley had 16 points for the Golden Eagles.
