Creighton stays perfect with rout of Seton Hall as Kobe Paras misses Big East opener

THE Creighton Bluejays used a first half and held off a brief rally by the Seton Hall Pirates for an 89-75 victory on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time) to keep their record unblemished.

Maurice Watson showed the way, delivering 21 points while the four other Bluejays starters also scored in double figures.

Creighton used only seven players in its first Big East game, with Kobe Paras of the Philippines again sitting out.

The Bluejays notched their 13th win in as many games.

Khyri Thomas and Justin Patton had 17 points each, Marcus Foster scored 15 and Cole Huff added 13 for Creighton.

Seton Hall saw its win streak snapped at six, even as Khadeen Carrington and Desi Rodriguez combined for 51 points.

Carrington came up with 27 points on 8 of 11 shooting, while Rodriguez scored 24, making five triples for the Pirates, who absorbed only their third loss in 13 outings.
