KIEFER Ravena will be playing commercial basketball after all, as he is set to play for Mighty Sports in the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League (PCBL).
Sources told SPIN.ph the two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player will suit up for Mighty Sports' first foray in a major amateur league as it makes its debut in the fledgling league.
Ravena already hinted about the matter when he tweeted “#MightySports first game on Sunday!” on Monday.
The former Ateneo star has been mum about the prospect of suiting up in amateur leagues, particularly the PBA D-League, before he enters the PBA Draft in August. However, Ravena is already eligible to turn pro after playing for the national team several times, thereby no longer requiring him to see action in the D-League as prescribed for players hoping to joing the Draft.
With Ravena apparently opting to play for Mighty Sports, a club he's also played for recently in the annual Republica Cup in Malolos City, it's a signing that provides a much-needed boost to the PCBL, which stages its second conference next month.
