KIEFER Ravena and Kevin Ferrer scored 12 points each as Malolos Mighty defeated Mapua, 74-61, on Tuesday in the Republica Cup basketball tournament at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.
The home squad took top spot in Group B with a 2-0 win-loss card.
JP Nieles had 14 points for the Cardinals, who led 42-33 at halftime but failed to hold on in their first game of the tournament.
Meanwhile, National University nailed its first win in the tournament, downing Foton, 70-58.
Ralph Tansingco added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who hold a 1-1 win-loss slate in Group A.
Foton dropped to 0-2.
