KEVIN Quiambao isn’t taking a break during the Korean Basketball League offseason.
Instead, Goyang Sono's do-it-all forward is heading to the U.S. next week to pursue his NBA dream.
Quiambao is set to fly to Sacramento, California, where he plans to train and gain exposure ahead of the NBA Summer League, scheduled from July 10 to 20.

“I’m flying out next week for USA, training muna ako,” Quiambao shared Wednesday night during the launch of his collaborative shoe with adidas. "Mag-isa lang ako. Hopefully, good things will happen. Right now, I’m preparing as hard as I can.”
The 24-year-old Gilas Pilipinas wing also mentioned that he might meet with coach Jimmy Alapag, who joined the Sacramento Kings’ staff in 2023.
Despite the high-stakes opportunity, Quiambao remains grounded.
“It’s all for gain, nothing to lose. If wala akong makuhang opportunities, babalik ako sa Korea," he said.
KQPH, always
KQ was in Manila in the past week after capping off his debut season in the KBL.
In his debut season with the Skygunners, he played 23 games, averaging 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals. He helped the team to an eighth-place finish with a 19-35 record.
While Quiambao remains under contract with Goyang Sono until 2027, he remains equally committed to national team duties, as Gilas gears up for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup this August in Saudi Arabia.
"Always open sa Gilas, never ko ipagpapalit yung Gilas sa kahit anong team," he said.
