TEAM Chris Tiu defeated Team Marc Pingris, 58-55, in the Master Game Face All-Star Basketball Challenge three-point shootout that featured Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love on Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Tiu scored 17 points in the three-point shootout to lead his team past Pingris’ in the side event prior to the All-Star exhibition game.
Love shot for both teams, contributing 15 after shooting first for Tiu’s team. Needing to score 23 points for Pingris’ team to win the contest, Love only scored 19.
Tiu’s Rain or Shine teammate Jeff Chan and University of Santo Tomas star Kevin Ferrer had 13 each.
Rain or Shine’s Jeric Teng and University of the East’s Roi Sumang had 13 points each while Meralco’s Gary David had 10 for Pingris’ squad.
