KENTUCKY may have missed out on securing Kai Sotto, but that doesn't mean the Wildcats can't get their hands on another player of Filipino descent.
Fil-Am stud Sage Tolentino is rumored to be in "in consistent contact" with Wildcats coaches.
Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio reported that no less than Kentucky associate head coach Kenny Payne has been reaching out to the 7-foot-1 prospect and has been "talking to him daily" in hopes of landing him come the class of 2022.
Tolentino, the 16-year-old wunderkind from Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, has been on the radar of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) as they hope to field him for the future of Gilas Pilipinas.
And he's worth the hype.
Just last February, he led the Spartans to back-to-back State championships after posting averages of 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks.
Aside from Kentucky, Auburn is also reported to be another school courting Tolentino.
