LA Salle Greenhills SBP pulled the rug from under powerhouse Xavier, 59-51, to clinch the 11-under age division title in the Got Skills Basketball Showdown Season Two at the wooden courts of the Xavier Sports Complex.
Kenjie Duremdes and Mark Anjelo Torrijos spearheaded the Greenies in their title run to earn spots in their bracket's Mythical Five alongside Jacob Militar of Marist, Cyrus Vibal of Chiang Kai Shiek and Asiah Inductivo of Xavier.
Duremdes, who is the son of former PBA superstar and now Adamson Falcons coach Kenneth, was adjudged MVP.
Ateneo de Manila U reigned supreme in the 13-under section after it hammered out a suprisingly lopsided 62-45 victory over Xavier, 62-45, in this tournament sponsored by No Curfew Watch Store, Wize and Ope Watch, Chris Sports and Sklz.
Miguel Sahali and JC Fetalvero starred for the Eaglets all-season long to earn places in the Mythical Team of their division along with Xavier's Miguel Roy Luis Tan, LSGH SBP's Nathan Guevarra and eventual MVP John Benedict Rigor of LSGH Paya.
In the 15-under bracket, Chiang Kai Shiek turned back LSGH A, 58-54, to crown itself champion with Jonas Tibayan emerging MVP.
Tibayan led the Mythical squad that also comprised of teammate Dominique Cuevas, LSGH A's Benedict Cruz, Luccio del Rosario and San Beda-Taytay's John Mark Lagumen.
AMA topped the 17-under class after fellow finalist St. Jude had to beg off at the last minute because of a prior commitment.
St. Jude though consoled itself with the MVP award received by Renzel Yongco, who was also included in the Mythical selection composed of St. Jude's Earl Vincent See, Xavier's Kyle Ong, AMA's John Russell Fuentes and College of Saint Benildo-Rizal's Lorenzo Luis Castelltort.
