    Former PBA players run the show as FCVBA squads stay unbeaten in Asean Veterans caging

    KENNETH Duremdes led the way as Filipino-Chinese Veterans Basketball Association's 40-above side completed a sweep of the elimination round of the 25th Asean Veteran Basketball Tournament on Wednesday at the Chiang Kai Shek College Gym.

    The former PBA MVP topscored with 16 points for FCVBA, which finished the elimination round with a 3-0 win-loss card going into the semifinal round on Thursday.

    FCVBA squads in the other age groups also remained perfect at the end of the elims of the tournament organized by Headstart Sports Academy and backed by Rain or Shine, Freego Jeans, Ironcon Builders and Philippine Airlines.

    Tanduay Distillers president and chief executive officer Bong Tan had 30 points and 10 assists as the FCVBA 50-above squad beat KLVBC-Malaysia, 85-54.

    Former La Salle cager Kenneth Yap scored 15 points and dished out seven assists as the 60-above squad downed Brunei, 82-49.
