CARL Tamayo continued to be a vital part of Changwon LG Sakers as it stayed undefeated this past week in the 2024-25 Korean Basketball League.
The Gilas Pilipinas forward registered nine points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal in Changwon’s 82-75 over Anyang Jung Kwan Jang at Changwon Gymnasium on Thursday.
It was his first faceoff against Javi Gomez de Liano, who had 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three, to go with four rebounds and one steal in that encounter that kept Anyang winless in two games.
It was a solid follow up to his standout performance in the Sakers’ 89-84 escape of Busan KCC Egis at Changwon Gymnasium on Monday
Tamayo had 16 points on 2-of-6 shooting from deep, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in the victory.
Changwon remained on top of the standings at 3-0.
SJ Belangel also erupted for 14 points on two treys, on top of four assists and three rebounds in Daegu KOGAS Pegasus’ 92-62 rout of Wonju DB Promy at Wonju Sports Complex on Thursday to even their standing at 1-1.
This also saw the continued struggles for reigning KBL MVP Ethan Alvano, who had six points, four assists, and one rebound in the defeat.
He was held to just two points, three boards, and three assists in their 77-72 loss to Seoul SK Knights at Jamsil Student Gymnasium on Tuesday to remain at the bottom with a 1-2 card.
Migs Oczon also bounced back in Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus’ 96-76 win over Busan at Busan Sajik on Friday.
The former St. Benilde gunner scored 12 points on 3-of-9 shooting from deep, three assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one block to even their standing to 1-1.
Juan Gomez de Liano was held to just five points and two rebounds in Seoul SK Knights’ 77-75 defeat to Suwon KT SonicBoom on Friday which saw the end of their two-game win run.
