Gilas ace Kaye Pingol rejoins Uratex Dream in Thailand 3x3

FRESH from representing the country at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore, Kaye Pingol returns to Uratex Dream as they aim for success in the 3x3 Basketball Thailand International League 2024.

The Gilas Pilipinas Women stalwart will be at the forefront for the Philippine club as it competes in Zeer Rangsit, Thailand from April 4 to 5. Pingol joins forces with teammates Sam Harada, Shanda Anies, and Chinese reinforcement Renzhu Li to tackle a challenging Pool B in the 10-team competition.

    Uratex Dream faces tough opponents in their group, including the Azerbaijan 3x3 Women’s National Team led by former Houston Comets center Marcedes Walker, Lotto 3x3 Team of Poland, and CT Tigers and Udon Wolves from Thailand.

    Despite the challenge, Pingol remains determined, stating, “It's a challenge for us, but every time we step on the court for Uratex, we take it upon ourselves to uphold the pride of representing the Philippines well.” She aims to lead the Dream beyond their quarterfinal finish from the previous year.

    In Pool A, Dusseldorf ZOOS of Germany, featuring Manila Hustle 3x3 Season 2 MVP Aoi Katsura and Ama Degbeon, will compete alongside Malaysia Rising Star, Jumpshot of Singapore, and Thai teams Shoot It Dragons and Sriracha Eagle.

    The top three teams from each pool will secure automatic quarterfinal berths, while the remaining two will compete in a knockout game for advancement.

    On the men’s side, Coach E Basketball School and Banh Mi Kitchen will fly the flag for the country from April 6 to 7.

    Coach E Basketball School comprises Ryan Monteclaro, JP Belencion, Bong Galanza, and Ivan Maata and competes in Pool A against Malaysia Rising Star, Ninja Air of Japan, and Luang Prabang of Laos.

    Banh Mi Kitchen, with Yutien Andrada, Tonino Gonzaga, TH Tumalip, and Louie Vigil, finds itself in Pool C alongside Thai teams Shoot It Dragons, Chiang Rai Bull, and Chumphon Blue Crabs.

    Pool B features Sagamihara 3x3 of Japan, New Force of USA, and Thai squads Sriracha Eagle and Udon Wolves, completing the 12-team lineup.
