JV Gallego and JBoy Gob lifted Team Punks to a 103-95 win over Team Hype on Sunday in the 2015 SLAM Rising Stars Classic at the Gatorade Hoops Center.
Gallego, the Chiang Kai Shek College stalwart bound for National University, led the Punks with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, while Gob from La Salle Greenhills, had 16 points and seven rebounds as the two were adjudged co-Most Valuable Player of the game featuring the country’s top high school players.
Team Punks finished the third quarter behind a strong 20-7 run to cap its comeback and grab a 75-69 lead entering the fourth.
Jolo Mendoza, a junior out of Ateneo, finished with 16 points while Brandrey Bienes of Far Eastern University added 10 points for Team Punks.
San Beda’s Andrei Caracut, who will suit up for La Salle this year in college, had a game-high 19 points for Team Hype, while Darius Estrella of Jose Rizal University had 14 points.
Mark Dyke of National University had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Team Hype.
