THREE former PBA players led by JR Cawaling powered Kama Motors to an 80-78 squeaker over Jumbo Plastic on Tuesday in the PCBL Founders Cup at the JCSGO gym.
Cawaling scored 18 points, Roider Cabrera had 16 and Rudy Lingganay added 15 as Kama Motors notched its first-back-to-back wins of the tournament.
Kama Motors evened its win-loss record to 4-4 and joined Cagayan Valley and Euro-Med in fourth spot.
Jumbo Plastic dropped into a tie for second with Sta. Lucia Realty at 5-3.
A 16-0 run by Kama Motors turned a 61-68 deficit to its biggest lead, 79-68, entering the final two minutes of the game, but Jumbo Plastic answered back with 10 unanswered points.
Lingganay split his charities at the other end and Kama Motors came up with a big stop in the next play, ensuring the win.
Foton downed Supremo Lex, 96-92, in the other game.
Scoreless in the first period, Ed Rivera caught fire in the next three quarters and ended the game with 25 points to power the Toplander to their second win in the tournament.
