CJ PEREZ had 20 points and Jovit Dela Cruz added 16 as San Sebastian defeated Holy Trinity College, 91-84, on Saturday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
Rookies Ryan Costelo and Michael Calisaan had 14 and 10 points, respectively, while Jeric Fabian had 10to help the Stags improve their win-loss record to 2-2 in Group C.
The game was tight all the way but the Stags survived the upset bid of the Wildcats, who dropped to 0-2.
“We haven’t really seen them play. They gave us a god fit but the good thing is we fought back. We appreciate winning this game. It’s big for us,” said San Sebastian coach Topex Robinson.
Chris Masaglang had 30 points, while Delmar Mahaling had 12 points and 18 rebounds for the General Santos City-based Wildcats, who are making their debut in the preseason tournament.
