JOREY Napoles is hoping to return to the D-League after his stint with Technological Institute of the Philippines in the Universities and Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL).
The 6-foot-5 Napoles, who plays the two forward positions, suited up for Batangas in the D-League Foundation Cup this season and is now looking for another stint in the developmental league.
“Last conference, nag-D-League ako sa Batangas. Siguro magta-tryout ako,” said Napoles.
The 24-year-old Napoles was one of the top players for TIP in UCBL Season 2, averaging 19 points, 9.64 rebounds, 1.57 assists and 2.21 steals.
The Engineers did not make it to the playoffs, but Napoles said he is happy with how his college career turned out, believing that he has come a long way after being discovered as a standout in the Palarong Bicol, where he was teammates with San Beda’s Ben Adamos.
Napoles said the confidence he gained in the UCBL will be important as he seeks for a spot in the amateur leagues.
“Si coach Potit (De Vera), binigyan ako ng break at kumpiyansa,” said
