JOSE Rizal University ruled the 21st Fr. Martin Summer Cup after beating University of Santo Tomas-B, 73-65, in the championship game held on Wednesday at the Arellano Gym.
Paolo Pontejos and Dave Sanchez each had 13 points for the Heavy Bombers, who completed their unbeaten run of nine games in the preseason tournament.
The Heavy Bombers beat University of the East, 53-45, in the semifinals.
Ed Daquioag and Louie Vigil each had 18 points for the UST split squad, which beat San Beda-B, 75-72, in the semifinals.
In the women’s division, National University beat UST, 81-79, in double overtime to win the crown.
Rheina Itessi and Rissa Mae Paig had 13 points each for the Lady Bulldogs.
It was a double victory for NU, which also won the juniors division with a 71-56 win over San Beda-B. John Clemente had 17 points for the Bullpus.
