FILIPINO-American comedian Jo Koy is taking his act into a different arena.
Not only is the 53 year old venturing into sponsoring a squad in the 2025 Manila Live, he's also doing so for an all-girls team.

“You know, I’m sponsoring the girls, helping them out,” Jo Koy told SPIN.ph, referring to 19-under girls tournament finalist Fil-Nation Jo Koy.
“As long as we give these kids shining lights and opening doors, the world is ours, right?” he furthered.
The Manila Live is an invitational tournament organized by the NBTC to run alongside its crown jewel National Finals, or the Philippine 19-under basketball championship.
And make no mistake, Jo Koy and his family are very much hands-on with the squad they're sponsoring.
“There’s a lot of beautiful sponsors that help, but my brother-in-law is also the coach,” he said.
“It’s fun to be not only Filipino-American, but to see these girls from America coming to the motherland and plugging in and seeing their culture hands-on, all that means a lot,”
Above anything else, Jo Koy has expressed his support for women empowerment in the sports landscape — citing the need for financial and emotional assists.
“It’s just creating more opportunities for people that are unfortunate and also educating people,” he expressed.
“There’s so many athletes that are being taken care of, but for some reason, we just need to shine more light on the female athletes.”
The proud Filipino comedian has been making people smile for quite a while now. Inside the SM Mall of Asia Arena, however, it was his turn to smile - all thanks to his girls.
