JIO Jalalon took control in the fourth quarter as the Gilas cadets beat Singapore, 81-59, on Tuesday for their second win in the 2016 Seaba Stankovic Cup on Tuesday at the Stadium 29 in Bangkok.

Jalalon scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Gilas cadets in the second half, staving off rallies by a pesky Singapore to stay unbeaten in the tournament.

With the Philippines up, 59-50, in the fourth, Jalalon hit three consecutive baskets to make it a double-digit lead once again.

The Gilas cadets were also down by six early in the third quarter but a run by the Philippine squad including a three-point play by Jalalon gave them the control once again, 48-37.

Gilas cadets coach Nash Racela wasn’t satisfied with how the team played defense in the game.

“We limited them to less than 60 points but I thought we could have done better,” Racela said.
