ROOKIE Jerrick Balanza and Rey Nambatac scored 15 points each to lift Letran to an 89-66 win over University of San Jose Recoletos on Monday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the San Juan Arena.
Balanza and Nambatac, former Letran Squires players who stayed with the college team, helped the Knights dominate the Jaguars and start their title bid on a bright note.
Rey Publico finished with 10 points for the Knights.
Iron Suano had 15 points while Kevin Villafranca added 13 for the Jaguars.
