JERRICK Balanza allayed fears over his knee injury, saying he's ready to play for Letran's next game in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup.
"Hindi naman seryoso. Sa Friday, lalaro na ako," he said following the Knights' 76-69 win over National University on Sunday.
Balanza suffered a strained left knee on Friday when he went for a block against Wendell Comboy midway through the second quarter in Letran's 75-70 victory against Far Eastern University.
Coach Bonnie Tan said that the Knights took precaution and rested Balanza and hope he makes a full recovery in time for Friday's game against Lyceum.
"We decided na di muna siya palaruin until he fully recovers. Nag-shootaround naman siya yesterday and we're happy na hindi naman ganoon ka-serious," the soft-spoken mentor said.
The 22-year-old Balanza as has been on a tear in the offseason, averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games.
