JERRICK Ahanmisi proved he’s more than just the little brother of recently crowned PBA champ Maverick after leading Adamson to its second consecutive win in the 2016 Filoil Flying V Preseason Tournament on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Fil-Nigerian Adamson recruit put on a show for the crowd that included his elder brother, finishing with 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the Falcons.

But still, he admitted that everything he knows, he learned from the Rain or Shine rookie.

“He always watches my game, he critics me all the time,” said the 18-year old Adamson freshman.

“He just tells me to be more aggressive, being able to play defense, pressuring me really hard because the UAAP is really aggressive,” he added.

Jerrick also looks to keep the blessings coming for his family, following his successful entry into Adamson and Maverick winning his first PBA championship.

“I can’t explain it. It's just a blessing that we are here, also my brother playing in the PBA and finally getting a championship, it's just amazing,” he said.

“I would say it's one of the best but there's more to come, it's just beginning,” he added. “I just want to play here in the UAAP, I want a team that I could fit into and my teammates.”

And although Maverick holds the spotlight now with a PBA title under his belt, the younger Ahanmisi is certain there's one area his elder brother can't win in a one-on-one game between the siblings.

“I think I can beat him in the shootout. He is a great shooter but I think I can beat him,” he said.
