JASPER Magno's basket with 3.4 seconds left in overtime lifted University of Santo Tomas-B to an 84-82 win over Letran recently in the 21st Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at the San Beda Gym.
Magno, a rookie out of San Sebastian, finished with 26 points to send the Tigers-B to their second straight victory in Group B of the tournament.
In other matches, Allen Enriquez scored 13 points as Arellano beat Enderun College, 80-63, to improve its record to 4-1 in Group A.
Darwin Lunor scored 16 points as Manuel L. Quezon University downed UST-A, 68-55, for a 3-3 slate.
Olivarez College defeated Polytechnic University of the Philippines, 80-76, with Marvie Bustos scoring 31 points for the Sea Lions.
In the juniors division, Maui Cruz had 33 points as Emilio Aguinaldo College beat Ateneo de Davao, 72-69, while Lyceum defeated San Beda-Alabang, 95-53.
Karl Penano had 13 points as National University beat San Sebastian, 82-44, while UST won over De La Salle-Zobel, 83-62.
Centro Escolar University beat College of Saint Benilde, 76-37, as UST overcame Adamson, 63-62, in the women’s division.
