KIEFER Ravena rang in his birthday weekend with a pair of wins against his former team in Yokohama B-Corsairs' big weekend in the 2024-25 Japan B.League season.

The Gilas Pilipinas guard tallied eight points, four assists, two steals, and one rebound in Yokohama’s 77-71 win against Shiga Lakes before upping his numbers to 13 points, three boards, two assists, and one steal in the B-Corsairs’ 77-75 escape of at Yokohama International Pool.

Ravena, now 31, helped Yokohama climb up to 5-4 in the standings.

Kai Sotto continued to be the shining light for Koshigaya Alphas even if they lost another pair of games, this time against Sendai 89ers at Kamei Arena Sendai.

The 7-foot-3 center delivered a monster double-double effort of 18 points, 18 rebounds, four rejections, and three assists in their 87-78 defeat on Saturday, before churning out six points, 13 boards, and three dimes in their 73-63 loss on Sunday.

This is now the fourth straight defeat for the newly-promoted team (1-8).

AJ Edu also bounced back with a 10-point, 11-rebound effort, laced with an assist and a block in Nagasaki Velca’s 79-75 loss to Chiba Jets at Happiness Arena on Sunday. It was a solid redemption after only grabbing a rebound in nine minutes in his team’s 82-50 rout on Saturday. The back-to-back defeats sent Nagasaki down to 5-4.

Ray Parks also bounced back for Osaka Evessa in their weekend sweep of Levanga Hokkaido at Ookini Arena Maishima.

Parks first erupted for 27 points, six assists, four steals, and two rebounds in their 91-79 victory on Saturday, before uncorking 19 points, four boards, four assists, two steals, and one rebound in their 90-84 escape on Sunday.

He helped Osaka rise to 6-3 on the back of a two-game win streak.

    Dwight Ramos remained on the sidelines in the twinbill, sitting out a seventh straight game now as Hokkaido went down to 2-7.

    Matthew Wright also could not save Kawasaki Brave Thunders from a loss to Gunma Crane Thunders at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena. He only had five points, six assists, two rebounds, and one steal in their 89-62 defeat on Friday, before notching 15 points, three boards, three dimes, and one steal in their 75-68 loss on Saturday to sink to 2-7.

    Roosevelt Adams and Geo Chiu continued to miss their teams’ campaigns in B2.

    Adams’ Yamagata Wyverns beat Aomori Wat’s, 90-83, on Saturday before losing, 103-76 on Sunday at Mutsu Maeda Arena to fall to 3-6.

    Chiu continued to sit out in the Ehime Orange Vikings’ weekend series against Fukui Blow Winds at Seiren Dream Arena, losing 86-70 on Saturday and 71-69 on Sunday to drop down to 1-8.
