KIEFER Ravena and the Shiga Lakes moved a win away from earning their tickets back to the top flight of the Japan B.League on Saturday.
The Lakes scored the 91-86 Game One win over the Yamagata Wyverns in the B2 semifinals at Shiga Daihatsu Arena, pushing them to the brink of achieving their dreams of returning to B1 a season after being relegated to the second division.
Ravena was a vital piece in this series opener, notching 22 points, seven assists, three steals, two rebounds, and one block.
His superb play was complimented by Brock Motum's 24 points and eight boards and has put Shiga in a position to sweep with Game Two on Sunday.
Roosevelt Adams only had two points, five rebounds, and two assists in the Yamagata defeat.
In the B1 playoffs, Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins dispatched SeaHorses Mikawa, 78-69, at Dolphins Arena.
Parks was scoreless but had four rebounds and one assist as Takumi Saito took over with 21 points and seven dimes in the Game One victory.
Unfortunately, Thirdy Ravena and San-En NeoPhoenix were stunned after a 77-70 Game One defeat to Hiroshima Dragonflies at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.
He only had six points, six boards, and one assist in his playoff debut as the Central Conference Champions were left reeling in the series opener.
